The Eagle and the Arrow

An old eagle was taking a nap on an old tree. A loud noise made him wake up. When the eagle looked down, there was an Indian hunter holding a bow with an arrow. The eagle was so afraid that he tried to fly away. But he saw the arrow and was sure he was going to die. The eagle watched the arrow and groaned in pain. But after a short while, the eagle was surprised. There were eagle feathers on the end of the arrow. "I am not disappointed because I'm going to die, but because the arrow is made with eagle feathers," he said.

독수리와 화살 

늙은 독수리 한 마리가 오래된 나무 위에서 낮잠을 자고 있었어요. 그러다가 큰 소리에 잠에서 깨었어요. 독수리가 아래를 내려다 보았을 때, 화살을 겨냥한 활을 들고 있는 인디언 사냥꾼이 있었어요. 독수리는 너무 두려워서 날아가려고 했어요. 하지만 화살을 보고는 자신은 죽을 거라고 믿게 되었어요. 독수리는 화살을 지켜보며 고통에 휩싸였어요. 하지만 잠시 후 독수리는 깜짝 놀랐어요. 화살 끝에는 독수리 깃털이 달려 있었던 것이었어요. 독수리는 이렇게 말했어요. “내가 화살을 맞아서 죽게 되는 것보다도 나를 죽이는 이 화살이 우리들의 깃털로 만들어져 있다는 게 더욱 더 억울하다.”​
