The regret of the one-eyed deer

 

A one-eyed deer stayed near the sea because of his weak sight. He always kept staring at the land with his one good eye to watch out for hunters and lions. On the other hand, he always stared at the sea with his bad eye. "I must look carefully for fear that something dangerous might come out of the forest." One day, a hunter passing by found the deer on a cliff. "What good fortune!" The hunter fired at the deer. "Bang!"  And it fell to the ground. The deer breathed with difficulty and said, "I was so stupid to watch just one side. I never imagined this could happen." But it was too late to be sorry. 외눈박이 사슴은 약한 시력 때문에 바다 근처에 머물렀어요. 외눈박이 사슴은 항상 사냥꾼과 사자를 조심하기 위해 좋은 눈으로는 육지 쪽을 계속 바라봤어요. 반면에 외눈박이 사슴은 항상 나쁜 눈으로는 바다를 바라봤어요. “저 숲에서 뭔가 위험한 것이 튀어나올지 모르니 잘 감시해야 해.” 어느 날, 지나가던 사냥꾼이 바다 위 절벽에서 사슴을 발견했어요. "이게 웬 행운이냐!" 사냥꾼은 사슴에게 총을 쐈어요. 그리고 사슴은 그 자리에 쓰러졌어요. 사슴은 힘들게 숨을 쉬며 말했어요. "나는 어리석게도 한쪽만 조심했어. 이런 일이 일어날 줄은 꿈에도 몰랐어.” 하지만 사슴은 후회했지만 너무 늦었어요.​
