The Astronomer 

A famous astronomer lived in a town. He usually went to the observatory to observe the stars. One day, he was on his way to the observatory and fell into a hole dug for construction. "Please help me!" he cried out. Luckily, a passer‐by found him. “Please help me get out of here.” "Oh, aren't you the famous astronomer?" The passer‐by recognized him. "How did you fall in there?" “I was on the way to the observatory and was looking up at the sky."  “Well, sir. I think you need to look down as carefully as when you look up and observe the sky and the stars.”

어느 천문학자

어느 마을에 유명한 천문학자가 살고 있었어요. 이 천문학자는 밤마다 별들을 관측하기 위해서 집에서 관측소로 가곤 했죠. 그러던 어느 날 이 학자는 다른 때와 마찬가지로 늘 가던 길을 가고 있었어요. 그런데 갑자기 구멍에 빠지고 말았어요. 그 길에서는 우물 공사를 하기위해 구멍을 파놓았던 것이었어요. "사람 살려.” 학자는 소리쳤어요. 다행이 지나가던 사람이 그를 발견했어요. “날 좀 꺼내주시오.” “아니, 당신은 유명한 천문학자가 아니십니까?” 그 나그네는 학자를 알아보았어요. “그런데 어쩌다 거기에 빠지셨나요?” 학자는 대답했어요. “저, 그게 항상 다니는 길이기도 하고 또 하늘을 보고 걷다 그만...” “선생님, 아무리 당신이 유명한 학자시더라도 위만 바라보실 게 아니라 아래를 살피며 다니실 필요가 있는 거 같아요.”​
